Design Assumptions and Limitations See the Standard Plans Instructions for the 102 Series – Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) . Indexes 102-660 and 102-661 provide rudimentary typical applications for sidewalk closures and bicycle lane closures, respectively. The primary purpose of Indexes 102- 660 and 102-661 is to establish minimum requirements for work zone signs and channelizing devices, and include scenarios that complement the pedestrian and bicycle accommodation guidelines provided in FDM 240 .
Use these Indexes as a guide in establishing project specific pedestrian and bicycle accommodations in the TTC Plans. Index 102-660, Pedestrian Detour - Option 2 : • For locations where sufficient length of low-profile barrier cannot be provided, Longitudinal Channelizing Devices can be used. • This option should only be used when Option 1 is not feasible.
