Plain answers about how PDFDepth handles your files. Nothing on this page is aspirational — it describes how the product behaves today.
Your PDF is not uploaded
Documents open locally in your browser, the same way a desktop application opens a file. Nothing is shipped to a server just to view or edit it.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
When you do choose to store or share a document, it is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
No third-party model training
We do not use your documents to train third-party AI models.
You control deletion
Remove a document from your workspace and it is deleted from storage. You decide what is kept.
How rendering works
When you open a PDF in PDFDepth, the document is rendered locally in your browser. It behaves like a desktop application opening a file from disk: the bytes do not need to travel to a server for you to read, annotate, or measure the document. This is why the workspace opens quickly and why you can work on sensitive files without pushing them into someone else's storage.
When data does leave your device
Some capabilities require a server. If you ask an AI question about a document, request a signature from someone else, publish a document as a website, or save a file to your workspace, the relevant content is transmitted and processed. In those cases the data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not use your documents to train third-party AI models.
Deletion and control
You decide what is stored. Removing a document from your workspace deletes it from storage. If you want an account and all associated data removed, email support@pdfdepth.com and we will action it.
What we do not claim
PDFDepth does not currently hold SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA certification, and is not marketed as HIPAA compliant. We are not going to put a badge on this page that we have not earned. If your procurement process requires a formal certification, we would rather tell you now than after a trial.
