Design Assumptions and Limitations
Design Assumptions and Limitations Index 330-001 provides standard requirements for construction of paved or graded driveways installed on either curbed or flush shoulder roadways. Locate and establish geometry of driveways in accordance with the requirements of FDM 214 . Coordinate with the District Roadway Design Office to determine the appropriate application of paved versus graded driveways.
For all newly constructed or reconstructed driveways, include “Driveway Base” per Specification 286 , throughout the limits indicated on Index 330-001 regardless to whether the final surface is paved or not. “Driveway Base” is not required for Portland Cement paved driveways.
Payment
Payment In accordance with Index 330-001 , include bituminous asphalt pavement Structural and Friction Course with the roadway pavement pay items. If Portland Cement pavement is required, include payment in accordance with Specification 522 . - Include Profile, Width, and Radii information in the Plans for each driveway that is to be newly constructed, reconstructed, or resurfaced. Include pavement design information for any driveways requiring structural asphalt or base materials that exceed the minimum requirements of Index 330-001 .
